Protect yourself with a personal accident and illness insurance policy

Construction workers often forget about insuring the core component of their business; themselves. When you go from being an employee to starting your own business, there is no longer a Work Cover policy in place that covers you if you’re hurt or injured on-site. If you were hurt or injured whilst working in your own business do you have the means to support yourself for a prolonged period of time?

What your accident and illness insurance can cover

When putting an accident and illness policy in place you will stipulate a weekly amount to be paid, and for how long you wish to be paid for. Our policies offer weekly payment options  for a period of 1, 2 or 3 years,to ensure that you have enough time to get back on your feet.

If you’re in a position where you need money immediately should something occur, our flexible policies can offer a 7, 14, 21 or 28 day waiting period after an event occurs.

Capital benefit payments are lump sum payments that are made for severe injuries such as death, loss of limbs or injury to any of the vital components of your body. The insurers that we work with will allow up to $100,000 to be covered as a lump sum payment or used as a percentage to be paid depending on the injury.

Most tradies don’t know that the first thing that an insurer will ask for if and when an accident and illness claim is made is proof of income. If you’re just starting your business or don’t regularly provide yourself a consistent wage, this can cause an issue. We offer our tradies an agreed value policy option that doesn’t require you to provide any proof of income.
